TERMS OF SHIPPING
- I do ship kittens nationally to Johannesburg, Port Elizabeth, George, Durban and East London on request.
- The cost of shipping is R300; although if I am sending up a few pairs at the same time I will lower the cost to R250.
- I do not ship kittens alone; even if you already have rats, I will not ship kittens by themselves. The shipping process is a long one as they must be at the airport 2 hours before the flight, the flights are generally 1 - 2 hours (without delays), not to mention preparation time and the trips to and from the airport., and I don't feel comfortable subjecting such a small young animal to this process by itself.
- However, if I am shipping other rats of the same sex to the same destination for other adopters I can with the permission of the other person ship a single rat along with another pair; in this instance the shipping costs will also be shared between the two adopters.
- The kittens are sent in wooden bird carriers with wire mesh fronts. These are very secure and are screwed shut - you will therefore need a medium sized star or flat scredriver to open their crate on collection.
- Dry food and fruit such as apples or grapes are also sent with the kittens for the trip.
- Before shipping all monies due must be paid and the adoption contract in respect of the kittens to be adopted signed and either faxed or scanned and emailed to me.
- I utilise the services of Express Air Couriers for the shipping of kittens. I have had no trouble whatsoever with their services and feel safe using them. I will therefore not use any other courier. Express Air only ships to the main airports so you will need to collect your kittens from the airport where their offices are situated. Their offices will be located in the cargo section of the airport.
